Software & Applied AI

Our Software and Applied AI division operates as Trunnion AI, Viceroy NM's enterprise software subsidiary formed in 2023. It builds security-first systems for government, defense, and national laboratories: FedRAMP-aligned, NIST 800-53 compliant, air-gap deployable, and powered by a governed, LLM-agnostic multi-agent orchestration platform.

How we deliver

From discovery to operation.

  1. 01

    Discovery

Map the problem, users, and constraints. Define scope, backlog, timeline, and success metrics so everyone knows what "done" means.

  2. 02

    Build

Short cycles with bi-weekly demos and transparent progress. Working software early, clear tradeoffs, and clean documentation. No black boxes.

  3. 03

    Deploy

Repeatable release process covering staging, validation, and go-live support. Launches are controlled and reversible. We fit into your existing environment.

  4. 04

    Operate

Monitoring, bug fixes, performance tuning, and feature updates. Continuous improvement or full transition to your team. Your choice.

How Trunnion AI works

A four-layer architecture for governed multi-agent operations.

Every action flows through a deterministic policy engine, every decision touches an audit log, and every autonomous step has a human checkpoint.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

What is Trunnion AI?

Trunnion AI is Viceroy NM's enterprise software and applied AI subsidiary, formed in 2023, and the governed, LLM-agnostic multi-agent orchestration platform behind the full product portfolio. It coordinates teams of AI agents across models, tools, APIs, and approval gates, with human-in-the-loop controls, tamper-evident audit trails, and classification controls, and is deployable on AWS GovCloud, private cloud, on-premise, or fully air-gapped environments. Visit trunnion.ai for the full platform.

Can Viceroy NM deploy software in classified environments?

Yes. Viceroy NM builds air-gappable architecture supporting TS/SCI-compatible deployment. Our systems are designed with CMMC Level 2 controls, NIST 800-53 alignment, and FedRAMP-ready cloud infrastructure. The Defense Agent Framework (DAF) is specifically built for classified program environments.

What technology stack does Viceroy NM use?

Viceroy NM builds on NestJS, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and AWS. AI capabilities use OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, and RAG pipelines, orchestrated through the proprietary Trunnion AI framework. DevOps uses GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform with automated CI/CD pipelines and SOC 2-aligned security practices.

Does Viceroy NM serve national laboratories?

Yes. Viceroy NM delivers secure enterprise software and applied AI systems for DOE and NNSA national laboratories including Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Solutions support supply chain vendor qualification, manufacturing oversight, procurement automation, and classified-environment deployment.

Governed by design

The Trunnion AI stack

  1. Interface Human-in-the-loop console: prompts in, approvals and oversight out.
  2. Orchestrator Plans the work, routes tasks, enforces policy and guardrails on every step.
  3. Agent Fleet Specialized agents execute tools and retrieval within scoped permissions.
  4. Foundation Models Reasoning core, model calls are versioned, sandboxed and rate-limited.
  5. Audit Log Immutable record of every decision, input and output across the stack.
